Custom Aerial Images captures all our aerial imagery in RAW camera format. RAW is not an acronym but means that the images are "raw" as in "unprocessed". A RAW file contains the original image information as it comes off the camera's sensor before in-camera processing. This allows us to do the processing after image acquisition on our office computers using digital image processing software. The advantage is greater control over the images and greater assurance that we can provide outstanding images, every time.
Though all our imagery is captured in RAW camera format and we maintain these original high resolution images in our archives, the products we deliver to our customers typically fit into one of three categories: low resolution images, high resolution images, and prints.
Low Resolution Images
If you will need to E-mail images to someone, place images on a Web-site,
or create a PowerPoint presentation, you will likely need to ask us
for low resolution images. We generally send these to customers via
E-mail attachment in JPEG format as it's the most widely used format
and thus most recognizeable by most computers.
High Resolution Images
If you want to be able to view large versions of the images we caputure,
explore the details, print enlargements, or maintain large versatile
copies for future unknown uses, you will probably want to ask us for
high resolution images. We send high resolution images to customers
in JPEG format on recordable CD or via FTP.
Prints
We use an Epson printer which is able to produce high quality prints
to size 13"x19". Having the ability to produce prints in house allows
us to provide you quick and reliable service. Also, we are able to
have greater control over the quality of your prints. We use Epson
print paper and Epson inks, which produce beautiful colors and if
cared for, will last for many many years without fading.
